Ortofon 9″ Tonearms

9″ dynamic-balance tonearm

RS-212D 9 inch Ortofon’s D series tonearm takes analog sound reproduction to a higher level with highly configurable VTF options and a dynamic balance system for increased stability when tracking warps and other anomalies.

Dynamic balance graduated vertical tracking force (VTF) control through a new spring design

The new short wire spring, housed in the pivot case, eliminates unwanted vibrations in the tone arm

VTF in the range 0-5 grams can be precisely adjusted by means of the supplied digital force gauge

Anti-skate control adjusted by calibrated dial in the range 0-5 gram

Tone arm height, and thereby VTA, is easy adjustable on the tonearm base.

Detachable head shell and tone arm cable, with standard SME-type connectors

Please note: The AS-212S, AS-309S, RS-212D and RS-309D tonearms have a Japanese geometry, which will not directly fit the normal Baerwald alignment. Baerwald alignment has a zero tracking angle error at 66mm and 120.9 mm distance from the center of the platter.

Please read our recommendations for alignment of RS and AS tonearm models here.

Ortofon AS-212-S 9″ static-balance tonearm

Ortofon AS-212S 9″ inch static-balance tonearm features high quality materials and construction, combined with a nod to analog’s past, for precise sound reproduction combined with a modern-vintage aesthetic.

AS series tonearms can be used for a wide array of cartridges and feature anti-skating control. The AS series tonearms are an excellent choice for use with SPU’s with the Ortofon SPU counterweight.

Ortofon TA-110 9″ static-balance tonearm

TA-110 has gone to the next level by reducing unwanted vibrations in the tonearm. Ortofon’s material know-how is the first area of the Ortofon technology that was applied when developing the TA-110. As a specialist in technical rubber, Ortofon used one of its special rubber compounds when creating the specially shaped rubber with high vibration dampening properties. The rubber pieces are produced at the Ortofon technical rubber facilities in Nakskov.

The second area of Ortofon technology is the extensive knowledge of vibration properties and characteristics. Ortofon has acquired this know-how via the developement of Bone Conductorsfor hearing aid industry. By using this knowledge and the related computer programs that simulated vibration in different shapes and materials, Ortofon came up with an optimized TA-110.

TA-110 is a static balanced gimbal type arm, easy to use and adjust for optimal VTF settings

TA-110 has a standard 5-pin DIN connector for tonearm cable

The tonearm geometry allows for a Baerwald alignment (also the IEC recommendations)

Counterweight with Inner/outer scale

Inner scale to be applied with main counterweight

Outer scale to be applied when extra mass ring is added

Counterweight will work with headshell+cartridge mass approximately in the range 20 to 28g

TA-110 is fitted with a standard headshell connector and can easily be adjusted in accordance with the included mounting template

Extra mass ring for heavier cartridge and headshell combinations included (the extra mass ring may need to be attached to achieve proper tracking force)

Extra mass ring weight 45g
